So I am happy to say that I have launched the ~Han Myvan A Blog-a-zine!! It has been a dream of mine to have my own magazine, so I thought this was a step in the right direction towards that goal. But let me back up a lil and tell you how I got here…
I was chatting with my mom last week about not having a true theme for this blog. It seemed to be just train of thoughts and no real content. I don’t really like blogs like that, so why have one that is exactly that. I wanted to have a blog with a theme, a purpose, and a reason to update besides random ideas. I wanted to write a lot more too. Sooooo, I came up with a magazine theme! It’s obviously a newborn creation, but suggestions are welcome! I am truly excited to begin this blog-a-zine journey. Check it out!!
So what does that mean for this blog? Well for now I am going to keep it, but I will update it a lot less. I like all the blogs I follow on here, so I will be on it probably the same amount of time, just not posting. Cross your fingers people! I hope this new adventure works out!
While Matt is living up his bachelor weekend, I am entertaining myself with some classic Hollywood films. Recently I just watched How to Marry a Millionaire (photos from it below), and Gentlemen Prefer Blondes. Both are hilarious and entertaining, but I thought it was nice to see Marilyn in glasses in the first mentioned film. Throughout it she keeps running into walls and people because she never wears her glasses around men.
Here’s what I go through every morning when I get ready. If it weren’t for contacts I think I would pull a Marilyn and never wear my glasses either!
Guess I could stop complaining and get lasik—oh wait I don’t have thousands of dollars to spend right now! Some day…
Just found this little jem! Aren’t these nails super cute?
I’m doing my makeup for my wedding, and have recently stumbled upon The Beauty Department blog. It’s really helpful with a lot of stuff actually, like hair dos for work and quick tutorials that are easy to follow. They have a great one on fake eyelashes, which I am considering using for the big day.
Here’s the link to the written out instructions HERE
I am getting all my makeup supplies this weekend and doing a run-through too. I feel that this will be easier than hiring someone, even though it’s more work for me, but then I know their won’t be any surprises. I know my face best, so why not be the one to do my makeup! Let’s hope I don’t regret this decision later haha!
Just thinking about the English language today, and how weird it is. I really love thinking up double meanings for the same word or phrase. Today’s double meaning: BUNS!
Diggin’ these dresses for work. I know it’s getting colder but I’m just in the mood for dresses! These look adorable and comfortable. Maybe I’ll look for some winter sales and tights to layer with.
Here’s a glimpse at the shenanigans of this weekend.
I had soooooooo much fun!!!! Despite travel issues (one of my flights got cancelled, then rebooked for 6am, all without my knowledge) I got there on Saturday and didn’t sleep longer than a couple hours at a time! My entourage included: Vanessa and Noelle (Matt’s cousins), Chloe (roommate from college), and Jackie (film school friend). I would not change a single second from this weekend and thank my ladies so much for showing me such a great time. We had an amazing room at the Palms Place. It’s almost surreal how huge the room was! I think it was bigger than my apartment. Dinner at N9NE restaurant was delish too, even though I think I drank more there than I ate…haha! Then the dancing began, and wow did we tear it up!! My feet still hurt from it!! So, so, SO much fun, I can’t wait for the reception and round two!
To the ladies that put up with me this past weekend, thank you for covering literally EVERYTHING right down to the last detail and letting me enjoy every minute of Vegas!!!! I LOVE YOU ALL!!!!!!!!
Lovin’ the chilly weather because that means it’s time to wear my sweaters! And I just picked up two new ones at Old Navy last night during yet another sale they are having. I’m starting to really like that place…
Here’s the first one:
$20! I like the 3/4 sleeves because sleeves are usually too long on my with anything I get.
$30 with 75% off!! This isn’t the color I got, I don’t think it’s available online. I got it in a dark purple color, but this was my second choice. Matt decided to call this color “baby shit green”, which I think describes the hue perfectly.
I’m not sure if the sale is still going on, but there are always deals there.
I am so beyond happy that the NBA is back!! FINALLY!! I get to watch my team, the LA Clippers, ball it up once again! Now, I’m not really a sports person per say, because I don’t have a favorite team for every sport imaginable. But I do like the Clippers, and well, Blake Griffin to be exact. He is a very interesting and entertaining player on the courts. That’s why I started watching and ultimately understanding basketball last year. I never liked the sport until he showed up on the scene with his crazy dunking skillzzz!
So now I like basketball, and have my very own team to cheer for. I am very excited to watch them now that they are back!
Also, I think another reason I like the LA Clippers is because of their patriotic colors. I’m a sucker for red, white, and blue!!
